We chose J2 Santi to construct our new home in Western Springs in the spring of 2010. Our decision was based on their reputation for transparency, quality and collaboration. We were not disappointed. We tore down an older home and our new home was completed in exactly nine months from closing. The sub contractors were wonderful, the pricing was excellent and our new home is of the highest quality standard we envisioned. New home construction is, and has always been, an imperfect process requiring multiple inputs into every decision. Thus, whom you choose to partner with through this experience is all the more critical. With J2 Santi you do not partner with a company, you partner with Tony, Amy and an interactive team of subcontractors and suppliers, second to none. I would highly recommend J2Santi. They are easy to work with and have a very transparent process. The owners can see and control all costs. We had a relatively tight timeframe to complete the house and thanks to J2S the house was completed as planned. They have very strong subs and suppliers who were very responsive to J2S and to us. Quality was never an issue for any of the subs. J2S communicated with us on a regular and consistent basis to keep the process moving and to help us make good decisions. They contributed many ideas to improve the house and were extraordinarily helpful guiding us through the many decisions that were required during the process.

Most importantly, Tony made sure that we were completely happy with all work. They have continued to follow-up after our move-in date to make sure everything is done and that we are happy with the results. We could not be happier with the finished product. Working with j2 Santi was a complete pleasure. We built the home we have always wanted ahead of schedule and on budget. Amy and Tony are a great team and helped us from the inception of design through move in and even now to make sure that any issue or concern that we have is addressed.

We elected to work with j2 Santi before we started design, based on the quality of work that we had seen and their business model. We did not want a builder to be incented be increasing project costs and the flat fee arrangement assured that Tony and Amy were on  “our side of the table”. Choosing them prior to design helped us stay within our budget parameters and also benefit from their years of experience and understanding of what works and what doesn’t. Having a hand in choosing subcontractors allowed us to put together a team of master craftsmen that really understood our vision and helped us get there. Building with j2 Santi has exceeded our expectations. As we contemplated building our custom home, most other referred to building as a “nightmare”,  “stressful”, or at best “a full time job”. We were not sure that we were up to the task; however, building our home with j2 Santi has been fun and rewarding. Tony and Amy make a great team. For those considering building a custom home, this is an exciting experience as well as a very stressful activity. We are very thankful to our builder, Tony Santi (j2 Santi) for his approach to our building partner. He had a way of putting thing in perspective that allowed the proper decisions to be made.  Looking back on the project, it is really amazing how many decisions there were and the coordination-required to bring it all together. Tony really worked with us to accommodate our many special requests.

With respect to the actual building, we could tell by how Tony interacted with the various sub-contractors that he was respected and liked. We are sure that this added to the quality that these workers put into our home. The jobsite was as organized as a job site can be and we noticed on many occasions that Tony was working on making sure the mess associated with any building project didn’t impact our neighbors.

Lastly, communication with Tony was very easy. We were not surprised with major issues. We were happy with the pace of the building as well as flexibility to make small changes as we saw things come together. Really the most important thing is that we just love the end result. Scott and Lisa

My husband and I worked with J2 Santi during the Spring of 2012 to build out our unfinished basement. During the selection of a builder it was apparent that Amy and Tony had the building expertise, organization and the local, licensed sub-contractor relationships to get our job done efficiently and on budget. As we worked with them over a number of months they were proactive in keeping all aspects of the job moving and provided us with open and constant status updates. Further, Amy’s advice and assistance in helping us select finishings was invaluable – we couldn’t have made quick decisions without her and we valued her decorating taste (clean, modern and practical with our budget). When we decided to take on a renovation project, we knew right away that we wanted J2 Santi. Tony and Amy make such a great team to work with. J2 Santi Builders is an excellent firm. We have used them for two separate remodels of our home. The last occurred in Winter/Spring 2009. J2 provides quality full-services to the homeowner. Tony and Amy make an excellent team. Tony works with top-quality sub-contractors and Amy is well versed and assists with suppliers form plumbing, appliances, tile, and stone to custom Amish cabinet builders and designers. It is apparent that they both take pride in their Company, whose name is derived for the first initials of their two sons.

My wife and I are very pleased with the entire process form the start with the architect through the finishing touches of the painters. Tony and Amy were there every step of the way. Our family lived though each of the remodels, j2 always made sure at the end of the day that the sub-contractors cleaned up after their work was complete. We would not hesitate to work with j2 Santi Builders again. We are presently considering are a remodel of our basement and the first call with be to j2 Santi. To put it quite simply. The j2 Santi team is the best!! How often do you hear a family say they enjoyed the process of a complete kitchen/bathroom remodel including several updates throughout a 100-year-old house?? Well, we can certainly say we did. The whole process of remodeling our kitchen was smooth and effortless… even though it took place in the summer with a house full of kids!! Form the start of the project Tony and Amy provided the guidance needed for us to have the project unfold in a very simplistic nature. With our family growing, we decided to move to a bigger home in Western Springs. Initially, we stayed away from custom-home building because we had heard only negative stories. When we first met with Tony, we were impressed with his project management background and that he was open, honest by not just telling us what we “wanted to hear”.
